Yes, that was what I more or less suspected. Increasing the log buffer
beyond measure in my experience often results to log file sync
problems.


Personally I usually set it at 512k, or 1M maximum.
You would want the LGWR to 'dribble', not to 'burst' dirty data to
disk.
