Certification, in and of itself, will "usually" not get you a DBA job
although it does happen. As far as the DBA profession goes, there's no
substitute for experience. You can't properly function as a DBA
without it. Having said that, I believe that certification adds to
ones value simply for the fact that to pass the exams, you must get
book smart on Oracle fundamentals. That knowledge will help fledging
DBA's as well as experienced ones be more proficient.
