Maybe that means there are _fewer flamefests_ and _less spam_ due to the actions of the _top posters_.
While I think what hpuxrac said is obvious (can't find the doc about understanding release numbers), I think the docs (particularly the upgrade doc) should answer geopappas' question, and they don't. http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14238/img_text/upgrd004.htm http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/dba.htm#sthref95 quite clearly say it is a maintenance release, which could easily be taken to mean "patch set."
http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showFrameDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=316889.1 isn't explicit about it either, but you can gather that there is a new ORACLE_HOME from it.
