Yes, really... After doing a decent amount of research and watching AUM crash a couple of databases, I drew the line for using or not using AUM. For almost all systems, AUM will work without any problems. If you have a database with a high volume of very short transactions, it can cause very, very serious problems, including instance crashes. At that point, it is really not worth the price you have to pay.
