Never heard of that particular issue myself.

Some questions:

what is the exact version of Oracle (8.1.7.0, 8.1.7.4, etc.)? what operating system and version?
when does this happen?
what is your disk layout? in other words, are the RBS tablespaces isolated or on the same disks as the data tablespaces?

I hate to suggest it, if it's a regular thing this smacks a bit of sabotage. Or coincidence related to regular maintenance?
