Sorry I didn't see this comment until too late in my previous response. Surely you are smoking something very potent.

I am writing this on a RedHat Linux machine in a room in which I teach on which every single machine has Linux installed. Contempt has nothing to do with it. It is about value. It is about money. Apple is just offering better performance at a lower cost.

Contempt? Hardly. But then perhaps you are some kind of religious zealot that thinks OpenSource=GOOD, Commercial=EVIL. See I can jump to unsupported conclusions too. ;-)
