Well, that kind of depends on who I get.

I've interviewed a few of the left over dot com primadonas, that never bothered to update their skill sets, pathetic. 8+ years experience as an Oracle DBA, BS in CS from USC, and still don't understand the difference between SYSDBA and SYSOPR. Oh, and they still want 100+k per year too.

Then, I've interviewed veterans, 12 - 15 years doing this stuff, on a large number of platforms, eat, sleep, dream, and think in Sql or PL/Sql, fleuant in at least 3 or more programming languages, no degree of any kind, and when the topic of pay comes up, they say, "Make me an offer."

And then there's that 16 year old down the street that runs rings around them all.
