I had the great fortune of attending the 1983 seminar in the Opera House in Sydney with Ken Thompson, Brian, Dennis and IIRC Rob Pike, where Unix was "officially" launched in Australia.

For those too young to know:
1127 is where Unix was invented and where the entire IT revolution of the last 30 years was started.

Hats off, folks: this is the passing of royalty. Thanks for all the fish, indeed.
