But isn't that a *symptom* of the problem not the *cause* of the problem? I tried adding in the database information and running the DBCA again and it failed once more with the ORA-12546 code and it also stripped out the parts I added in to tnsnames.ora. Surely that is supposed to be inserted *by* the DBCA when it functions properly?
