Hello !
I found a problem with running Oracle10g on Solaris10 Sparc machine.
I've installed it successfully (as metalink recommends...;-) with
patchset 10.1.0.4 so officcially Oracle with this patchset supports
solaris10 sparc. When i try to start instance i'm receiving a error
"end-of-file on communnication channel". In alert log i found following
error :
Errors in file /opt/oracle/software/rdbms101/rdbms/log/db101_ora_3359.trc:
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [lgrp_cpus_hier()+120]
[SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [0x000040000] [] []
I've been looking for solution in metalink for a long time, but found
nothing :-(. I even did not found a information about someone who
successfully installed Oracle10g on Sol10(sparc). Of course i've checked
kernel parameters (in solaris 10 they are a projects parameters and not
in /etc/system like in previous versions of solaris) - configured them
correctly for values recommended by Oracle. So my question are :
1. is there anybody on our planet (Earth ;-) who installed Oracle10g on
Solaris10(SPARC), created database and opened it for users ?
2. If "YES" - how to do it ?
