problem solved ...

i wrote about this the day before yesterday but my posting seems to be lost.
don't know ...

problem was as i thourght not the listener. it was the fc2 installation itself. problem was the line "127.0.0.1 freeman_sheldon localhost" in "/etc/hosts". "freeman_sheldon" is the hostname of my fc2 box.
the file "listener.ora" contains the string "HOST=freeman_sheldon". listerer
resolves freeman_sheldon to localhost to 127.0.0.1 and so listener listens only
on the loopback device ...

changing "etc/hosts" to
"127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.1.3 freeman_sheldon" solves the problem .... Received on Thu Feb 10 2005 - 04:51:14 CST
