This kind of question usually brings out 'religious' responses, and I can't claim to be completely agnostic on the issue. I'm supporting Oracle on Windows, Solaris, and AIX, with the two *nix platforms being the later additions to my portfolio. That said, if I had to move from the Solaris or AIX to an Intel platform to save hardware costs, I'd prefer to go with Linux than Windows.
