Which OS for Oracle 10i ?

hello everybody,

We have for the moment, Oracle 8i installed on a IBM AIX 4. We planned ti migrate on Oracle 10i, and the "management" decided that we will buy another AIX, but version 5...

I asked why choosing AIX ? because all others servers here are under Linux.

So, i ask you if you know on which OS oracle will be more performant ? Aix or Linux Redhat ?

Does a migration AIX/Oracle 8i ==> Linux/Oracle10i will be easy, or difficult ?
