Databse Link between 10g and 8i

Hi,

for a few months we have to replicate some data between an 8i db and a 10g db. Is it possible to use a database link for this issue? And if it's possible which version we need at least?

I've tried to find something on the Oracel web sites. But I only find how to set up dblinks basically, but nothing more.
