Hi,

I would like to install Oracle Http Server on Sun Solaris 8, but would like to start it as a non-oracle Unix user.

I know that you need to be the oracle user to install the application, i.e. write to the raInventory directoy, and am going to place the install inside a separate directory from $ORACLE_HOME.

However, what are the steps to run the application as another user? Can the whole directory be simply "chown/chgrp"'ed to work?

After installation, does OHS still need to write to items inside the $ORACLE_HOME directories?

With OAS 4.0, the application server could be installed as another user, and executed, but now it seems that this is not possible.

The above is infuriorating since all l need is the mod_plsql functionality. Has anybody managed to port mod_plsql.so to a standard Apache implementation?

Thanks.
