THANKS Rauf.

The Oracle Server is in Private Network and so I had told my Network guys to OPEN Port 1521 from my Destop Client Machine (running XP) and Oracle Server which is in Private Network. He confirmed me saying the PORT 1521 is OPEN for the 2 IP's I gave him.

I OPENED TNSNAMES.ORA and MANUALLY Added the SERVIVE NAME etc .... here is the snapshot:

HARIOM =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 100.101.102.103)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = hariom)

)
)

Here is my SQLNET.ORA file

SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES, ONAMES, HOSTNAME)

Note the above 2 snapshot are of my Client Machine...

I tried running tnsping hariom... and it GIVES SAME ERROR...

So, do you think I should edit the LISTENER.ORA file on the SERVER to modify CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 0?

ANy other hints or related informaiton is appreciated... THANKS! HARIOM Received on Thu Jan 13 2005 - 13:02:23 CST
