Disadvantages of Shared Server

OK, After experiencing random ORA-12500 errors, we discovered that we had
too many connections on our 9i Oracle Server (Win2K) and implemented Shared
Server to correct.  So far this has had a very beneficial effect on our
system.



That being said, my question here is what, if any, are the possible
disadvantages to using Shared Servers?  Is there anything I should keep my
eye out for, something likely to be adversely affected?
