It's a bit vague, Frank! No O/S, no Oracle version, no hardware specs, no configuration information... no-one can offer anything meaningful in the absence of such information.

Actually, that's not quite true: the best advice I think you can be given is to learn (if you don't already know) how to take a Statspack report, and then upload that to www.oraperf.com, which will come up with a stack of sensible tuning suggestions in a matter of a few seconds, for free.
