I have seen two certfied configirations on HP UNIX:

  1. HP'S MC Service Guard Extensions for RAC 2, Veritas Database Edition/Advnaced Cluster

I want to know pros and cons of the two.

Is it true that configuration 1 does not support clustered file system. RAC therefore must be setup using raw devices. What about archived logs which cannot be on raw devices, do they have to be nfs mounted so they can be accessible on any nodes. Is there some high avaiablity risk here if some node goes down, its archived logs have to be remounted on another node for recovery.

Configuration 2 appears to be easier to manage, but does it have any drawabcks.

Are both configurations quite stable. How about price differences.

Thanks a lot,
