I would agree, it appears you are running a 32-bit version of Linux or Oracle.

But, if you really are running "Linux x86-64 AMD64" (wording from Metalink certification) and 64-bit Oracle, I would be curious which hardware vendor you are using?

It is interesting how different AMD and Intel are implementing a 64-bit version.

Also, interesting that the cost of Intel Itanium 2 chips is about the same as all the good old usual (reliable and proven) Unix RISC chip vendors. - The GHz rating is in the same range too which has always been misleading (meant nothing) and is even more complicated by the now several different methods of doing 64-bit (Intel (EPIC), AMD(extends the existing x86), and all the RISC (HP,Sun,AIX,etc.) chips). See URL above.

Although (for now), Intel Itanium2 1.5GHz does appear to have the highest FP specs (but Xeon has the highest INT specs - and cheaper too).

So now what's that advantage of Itanium2 64-bit (or AMD 64-bit) (SGAs larger than they need to be :) ....
- The performance doesn't appear to be that much better ( refer to www.spec.org ).
- Look at the INT and FP for 32-bit Xeon vs. 64-bit Itanium2.
