There is only one CD required, and it has a name of ship.db.cpio.gz.
I don't know what download page you're looking at but the one I've just got in front of me has 5 links. The 'download the complete files' one, the companion CD, the client release, the cluster ready services and the instant client.
What is confusing about that? The first link it contains, links to the one CD you need.
The companion disk has "other stuff" on it which you don't need to run 10g. Learn upfront how to visit http://tahiti.oracle.com, and there visit the 10g documentation library. You will find in the bottom right-hand corner an entire section devoted to "The Companion CD Installation Guides", which explains what's on that particular CD.
Full 10g on Linux installation instructions available at www.dizwell.com, along with other tips and ideas. But don't forget tahiti, either.
