Hello,

My Oracle database needs more disk space than I have available on my work station, and I am considering hooking up an external disk with a USB interface, and moving all Oracle data files there.

Has anyone tried this? Are there any issues with this that one should be aware of?

I am planning on simply mv-ing the files and then sym linking to them from the usual /u01 and /u02 locations. Will this work?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
P.S.
I'm not very concerned with performance, this is only for development, but I would like to avoid data corruption and such. Received on Wed Jun 02 2004 - 19:09:47 CDT
