The answer is :
YES, OCFS supports standby redo logs and archived standby redo logs.
(I posted the same question on the metalink forum,
and got the answer, Thanks Michael).
And, yes, we intend to build a physical standby system that may or may not be a cluster. Will start with 1 machine though.
Dataguard is amazing once you get around it.
Two remarks on it:
1. We do everything command-line. no gui-stuff.
We prefer in-depth-understanding over
the WIMP interface.
This component is too critical not to Understand.
2. I would not venture into the logical-standby
features yet: too complex and too many issues in the
buglists. Checkout the readme for 9204.
