Re: Installing 9i and 8i into some ORACLE_BASE

Another reason is to support some 3rd party apps that simply won't work with the 9i client software. We recently had to reinstall 8i client on a machine after we upgraded it to 9i client. The 3rd party app in question required some 8i libraries that weren't present in 9i.

Go figure...
