OK guys,

stop throwing all these suggestions at me! :) Today, I tried again, and I almost never seem forced to "recover" the tablespace before bringing it back online. The only difference between my tests yesterday and today is that today I put the tablespace offline right after the startup, whereas yesterday I did all kind of stuff before putting it offline. I even tried to force a checkpoint ("alter system checkpoint") today while it was offline, and that didn't even force Oracle to request a "recovery" before bringing it online again. Anyone has an idea?
