You do not need replication for that at all. Besides, it is a scary thought of replicating data from a test/dev system into a production system.
This in my mind requires a strict, formal and interactive process to apply the selected config parameters from the Test system to the Prod system. Nothing automated. With in-built configuration rollback (on Prod), full blown auditing and as many fail safes as possible.
Wait till you work with a billing system where someone "accidentally" gets a critical billing parameter wrong and screw up billing, causing billing deadlines not to be met...
You want to risk replicating config parameters from a test system!? <shudder>
