ORACLE SQL*NET protocol decode question

Hello,

I am trying to decode ORACLE SQL*NET for a project I am doing. Basically I am trying to extend a firewall to pass ORACLE thru, but also to be able to snoop on the data going by.

Since it seems that there is no public documentation on the protocol, this gets a bit hazy - REDIRECTS and simple commands are easy to figure out; parsing queries and responses and pulling username/passwords out isn't so straightforward.

Has anyone seen any documentation or other projects that I might look at for a reference? Any help greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
