MySQL 3.x and 4.x (all new versions till 04/2003) crash at large databases, import of large csv files is impossible (tried 17 hours to import all german phone number records and crash...), oracle 8i crashes on AIX with raid, when size of database has reached 3.5 Gig. Reason was not oracle, but ibm raid controller, which freezes .....

PostgreSQL seems to be quite stable ....so far ...i am testing the new cluster features .... if positive, postgresql will replace many oracle installations sooner or later ....
