Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> DBA Experience in Brazil?
Hello
I would like to tap into your knowledge of the I.T. industry
Having worked in this industry for several years, but striving to
learn new
technolgies constantly, I have put as a goal to work as an Oracle
Database Administrator.
Currently I am studying and writing certification exams towards an
Oracle Certified Professional (DBA) certification.
Recently, I have received an offer from a company in Brasil to work as
an Oracle developer,
with possibilities to grow into a Database Administrator role. They
offer an environment that
stimulates learning.
Now, the question remains: If I go and work in Brasil, will my
experience be recognized once
I return to Canada?
Realizing the strugle to enter such a specific job market in Canada,
my
hope is that work experience elsewhere will make it possible to work
as an Oracle DBA in Canada.
Is this a realistic asumption?
Would a six month contract, starting in development, be looked upon
favorably
by Canadian employers?
This opportunity involves almost no financial advantage. So I am
taking the aproach that
this is an investment in my education and career.
Accepting this oportunity will take considerable effort and resources,
so I sincerely
apreciate your opinion and input on this subject.
Are there any other aspects I might be overlooking?
Thank you beforehand for your time and answer.
Cheers,
