Installing 8.1.7 - Database Creation - Error when initialising database - ORA-03113

Hi, 



I have just installed oracle 8.1.7 on a windows 2000 server. The
machine is a Pentium 4. We renamed the symcjit.dll file to get the
thing to start.



We went through a "typical" install. All goes well until it gets to
the database creation part.



Creating and starting oracle instance - succeed
Copying database files - succeed



Initializing Database - Fails, comes up with the ORA-03113 Error. 



The server has just been built so no other version of oracle on it.



Any suggestions.
