What type of system is it ?


OLTP? DWH?



That would explain why the incr. backup takes as long i.e if a high
percentage of blocks are changed each day.



Is there a problem with weekly full and use arch logs to roll forward
until next backup?



I guess it comes down to what recovery the users/owners of the data
require...
