Not sure on this one, but at some stage (7.3?) Oracle changed from triggers being uncompiled (ie the compiled p-code was not retained - it was compiled on the fly when it got aged out of the cache) versus the p-code being retained..

Maybe an 'alter trigger ... compile' sticks it on xxx_SOURCE ? (not verified by me)
