create a standby db on the same host (IPC)

ORACLE 8.1.7 EE Just followed the ORACLE 8i manual to create a standby db on the same host (Win2k) as the primary database.

When try to connect to the standby database: connect sys/change_one_install_at_clone
got ORA-12505.

Check
- the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora

• the network log and trace file,
• listener state It shows no problem about network configuration.

Any idea?
