Hi,

I need Oracle's advice on the following issues.

  1. If I am performing disaster recovery for my production Oracle server in another location, do I need to purchase another set of licence for the disaster recovery server. Please note that the disaster recovery box is not set up on a permernamt basis, it is for testing purpose only and it is for at most 1 week. Thereafter the DR server will be formatted off.
  2. If I were to usr the replication method or solution from Oracle, do I need to purchase another licence for the standby server. The standby server is only used for replication, it is not in the production activity.

In both cases, the server will not participate in production environment unless a disaster strikes. If that is the case the production server will be wiped out. Received on Tue Sep 03 2002 - 06:11:04 CDT
