Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Connect failed on oracle 8.1.7
I have a 8.1.7.0.0 Oracle standard edition installed on a win2000 server
with Active directory.
There are two instances on server. Then there are several win2000 pro
clients.
Each client must connect to both instances.
A strange thing happens: with some AD users i can connect correctly to both
instances. If i logon with another AD user on a client, i could connect to
one instance, on the other instance i can complete a TNSPING but if i try to
connect with SQLPLUS i receive the message:
ORA-12545 connect failed because the target host or object does not exist.
It is not the Oracle client because changing the user the same machine works fine. Yhe same thing will be reproduced on several pc clients.
What's wrong? Any idea is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Andy.
