Cache buffer handles are used, I believe, when pinning buffer headers.

However, giving us a 'miss ratio' tells
us nothing. What are the values for
gets and misses, and how do these
compare with the values for gets and
misses on the 'cache buffers chains'
latch.

It is highly likely that you have a
meaningless ratio, and not a
problem.
