I don't see any reason why you can't use the Export/Import utility.

You must be kidding when you said "there is no connection between the two domains..." You wanted to setup a Standby database, right? You need the the two hosts to be connected or communicating on a network if you want to set up a Standby database.

There is also another option aside from using Import/Export. Use Rman to duplicate a database. The RMAN reference would provide you the details on how to duplicate a database or how to set up a Standby database. Received on Sun Oct 28 2001 - 01:25:37 CST
