So, you or your customer spends a boatload of money to buy a worldclass piece of software called Oracle and you don't want to take advantage of its power? You, instead, want to take advantage of some programming language that you have chosen.

Turn the question around. Shouldn't you be able to write pseudo-code and have it compile in any programming language and execute perfectly and with no performance issues? Why should you choose to write in a specific programming language? Why not just code in pseudo-code?
