You seem to be very stubborn about your own truth. As you are an independent software developer, which has to sell software to companies employing DBAs, you will soon learn some hard lessons.

That is definitely stupid. Very often my customers have bought software developed by firms who don't know a damn thing about Oracle database administration. This invariably results in programs following principles and practices completely unacceptable to any Oracle DBA who is worth a grain of salt. No primary keys, no constraints, every user has DBA privilege, end user objects in the system tablespace, frequent ora-1555 errors because the developer thinks he need to commit every individual record, people installing the database on a PDC, I could write a book about it.

But then, as you seem invariably to ignore and/or contradict comments made with respect to your posts, I think you are up to a few surprises

You *can't* run an Oracle database without a DBA, I earn a living from such situations, but I usually come in when things have completely run out of hand, so I really don't like that.
