Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Posts without Oracle version/platform, without error numbers/messages was Getting ora-12535 w/ 2 or more apps on diff machines.
All
There is a pertinent tendency in this group that many, many posters don't
take the trouble to provide *any* detail about their configuration, and/or
force someone willing to respond to visit technet to find out what the
associated error message is.
Those people should be aware Usenet is an all FOC service, so you definitely
can't expect people willing to respond to find your error message for you
(what you should have done yourself) and to make any assumptions about what
version and platform is. I don't think anyone in this group keeps track of
what everyone is using.
Also, despite the numerous resources available dealing with FAQs, there are
still many many people who obviously at the first appearance of a problem on
their system immediately start posting, instead of doing *anything*
themselves to resolve their own problem. Doing so, they won't learn anything
about Oracle, and their way of working will also result in less and less
people spending their *own* spare time are willing to respond to such
questions.
I think over the years of all people responding I have had more than my fair
share of responding to FAQs. I admit I have not always been capable to hide
my obvious annoyance.
Hence, starting immediately, I will stop completely to respond to any
questions
- of a FAQ nature - without version and platform info - without error numbers and error messages.
If I am going to be flamed for this decision, then let it be so.
