I have been assigned the task of testing backup and recovery for a DB on an unix server .
I have decided to go with control file instead of recovery catalog (against oracle recommendations) , the single most reason being it is just one db on an unix server . I have some prior experience using Rman with Recovery catalog option on an NT server . I have tried / tested a simple recovery scenario and validated backup sets .
Simple recovery scenarios being (1) losing a datafile (2) losing a drive with tablespaces (not system) and recovering to a different drive .
I need some more inputs from you the Gurus to try different scenarios .

TIA
