  1. You will need to change the ORACLE_HOME on any local running APPS and the entry on your listener.ora. You of course will need to test your applications to ensure nothing is going to break!
  2. Yes. The database can have the same names.
  3. If the docs say 8.06 then you had betterupgrade to 8.0.6 prior to going to 9i. If you try it you will probably break something and support will probably not be able to help.

Make sure you testthe upgreade on a test server.
