Is it actually declared as DATE? I ran into this in my previous job
and is documented on Oracle's Metalinks site. Instead of "YY" try
using "RR" or "YYYY", this should resolve the date problem, actually
the "RR" is correct one to use. Also, the init.ora parameter on the
DB should be something similar to DD-MON-RR.
