Storing Objects in Database

Hi

I am currently setting up a repository database to store various files including photos (.jpg) and Microsoft Word and Excel documents. Does anybody know a good source of documentation for:

# Importing these objects into the database (or storing them as bfiles?)
# Extracting these objects into a dynamic web page (are there any PL/SQL
procedures?)

A pointer in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Database version is 8.1.6 and OS is Sun Solaris 2.6

Thanks in advance
