AIX Oracle client - help needed

Hi,
We are going to install oracle 8.1.7 client on AIX (4.3.2.0) system, running Sybase 11.9.2 server.
Installation will be done on developer server, but we dont want to blow it up.

So we have a lots of questions:
-are there any possible conflict between Oracle client and Sybase server?
-any possible troubles
-can the installation be undone, I mean, can we return to the old
environment without restoring it from backup.
-any helpfull trics&tips.

We can't get any help from local Oracle division. So, if anyone has experience with such installation, please help us.
