Hi there,

You may have to find out why the alter tablespace xyz end backup is not issued lately. When a begin backup is issued, the SCN is freezed and you are able to copy the datafiles via os copy command to the destination you want. After physically copy the datafiles, an end backup should be issued to end the hotbackup for a particular tablespace.

You may want to manually write a script and run the script to see why the end backup is not issued at all. WHile running the script, do a select * from v$backup. The ACTIVE for Status means the file is under hot backup.
