Using a newly installed Oracle 8i standard edition on Win 2000 Pro

As a developer I don't need all the fancy memory/disk hungry flashy things that seem to get installed. All I want is to create a small database, add tablespaces to it for each different application that I develop & add/edit/delete ordinary records from it

From Oracle 7.3.4 this seems to be a massive step, no longer can I

Find ORAINST.EXE in install/uninstall stuff - can't see anything on the menus that remotely sound like it will do this - for instance how would I uninstall Oracle objects for OLE?

Using the create database wizard I tried to setup a small database of 50 megs, using the custom part I went through taking the default setting except for the DB size bit - I had to allow nearly 700 megs in the end just to create this?

I'm sorry to ask these probaby very stupid & obvious questions but I haven't got the time to wade through all the docs

So my questions are -

How to create a very small db with a small rollback segment & no frills - not even backup!

        How do I install/uninstall stuff?

Many thanks
