No disprespect, but I do find this approach rather amusing, given that Solaris 7 and 8 share a common ancestry - and that bugs tend to get fixed in newer version before old.
I can understand holding off for a couple of months after FCS, to make sure the biggest bugs that weren't spotted by the Beta process are ironed out, but after that, I think upgrading is a worthwhile thing to do - assuming that the downtime can be scheduled (although this can be minimised with Soalris 8).

Poetic justice indeed - not that I have anything against Muslems in general, or any other religion for that matter, although I do find their attitude towards women questionable. But, as an atheist, there's probably something from every religion I would find questionable - but to each their own. Fortunately, most of us live in a society where people are free to follow whatever religious beliefs they want to: and amen to that. Who am I (or anyone else for that matter) to tell someone what to belive and what not to believe?
Freedom is good.
