Check your CLASSPATH and PATH. Maybe they changed since your last install.

Make sure they point to a jre version 1.1.7/8. I think any other jvm will not work.

If you are reinstalling, I would install from the CD if you have it, or use the setup from the install dir. (Rather than use the OUI already installed).
