Net8 client minimal installation

Hello,

I need to install the Net8 client software on Windows 98, NT and 2000 clients and have approximately 3000 client workstations. I do not want to install the full blown client software on each the users workstation for a number of reasons. They only need the files and environment variables/registry entries necessary to establish database connectivity for some locally developed applications. Could anyone provide me with what files/entries would be required for this type of configuration. We running version 8.1.6
